International Women´s Day


Women’s Day is one of the many results from the Industrial Revolution first riots which occurred on March 8, 1908, the workers of the textile company New York Cotton when mostly migrants gathered at the company premises to protest poor working conditions, 146 women were killed by bombs. Two years after a group of women protesting the same causes in Triangle Shirtwaist Company in New York on March 25 died in similar conditions, after this date different manifestations of women took place in Denmark, Germany, Austria and Switzerland forming groups for women who demanded the right to vote, hold public office, the right to employment, vocational training and job discrimination. This day has acquired a global dimension, supported by United Nations; it’s a day of celebration, honoring the effort, dedication, values and intelligence in each of the different work fields.
